Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Season Eight #31

“The big reveal of Twilight is coming up. Contrary to a previous post that turned out to be a hoax, it is not President Obama, but someone near and dear to her heart. The spoilers are all over the web, but I’m still not going to blab.” –Mike Buzzelli

Invincible Iron Man #22

“For sure comic book reading pleasure, Matt Fraction’s Iron Man has been invincible! With a list of special guest stars to rival an episode of the Love Boat, this one should have it all.” –Mike Buzzelli

“One step closer to Iron Man’s new armor! I’m enjoying how Marvel is pulling the big three together again, I’m ready to see the Caps and Thor stepping up for the armored buddy.” –Tim

Nation X #2

“Why is a random collection of short stories spotlighting the current status quo a top pick for the week? One word – Northstar. I’ve always loved that crazy Canuk. I was thrilled when he joined the team some months back, but he’s been largely MIA ever since. I’m not expecting a revelatory experience or the next “V for Vendetta” here, but I’ll but enjoying it nonetheless.” –Brett

Power of SHAZAM #48

“I have been very sad about the dangling plot of Billy and Mary Batson since the Wizard Shazam had a bitch-fit all over their faces last year and stripped them of their Marvel powers. I like these kids and their super-powered counterparts, and to have DC leave them more or less forgotten in the rain seems like bad form. So, DC, let’s get these kids a towel and some thunder, eh? That, and I’m hoping that everything Judd Winick did to CMJr gets undone up to and including his kissing Supergirl.” –Sean

Secret Six #17

“This hasn’t been quite up to snuff for a few months, so I’m hoping Gail Simone can get the title back on track. I’m also unsure about having Black Alice join the team full-time…” –Tim

Spider-Man And Secret Wars #2

“The nostalgia train continues as this new look at the Secret Wars story from decades past is a lot of fun. The interaction between Spider-Man and Hulk is priceless, not to mention the rarity of seeing Captain America getting pissed off. I’m all for realism in comics, but every once and a while you need a story where one man holds up a multi-billion ton mountain.” –Brett

S.W.O.R.D. #3

“Henry Peter Gyrich is up to his old tricks, detaining (Guantamo-style) all of the Marvel Universe aliens, including Beta-Ray Bill and our little Runaway, Karolina Dean. P.S. In the first issue author Kieron Gillen revealed that Kitty Pryde is alive and well…and still phasing.” –Mike Buzzelli

“Abigail Brand is one of the better new characters of the past few years and her interactions with Beast are just plain fun. Her supporting cast has some interesting creations including both Lockheed AND Henry Peter Gyrich! And the first villain is Death’s Head! Anyone who read Marvel in the 80′s should be reading this book.” –Brett
